The Fornax Experiment

A hauntological work by Jim Batt, Anastasia Russell-Head and Gus Weate investigating the residual atmospheres of the Moonee Ponds Incinerator site through evocative manipulation of sound and video.

Featuring live harpsichord, elements of archaeoacoustics, toy piano, Gus’ loops of genius, an ancient 4-track tape deck, and subtle visual projections, the performance creates a space that entices the audience into their own imagined recollections of the past.

Debut Performance at the Quiet Music Festival, Sunday 2 May 2010. Festival runs 1:00pm – 7:30pm; The Fornax Experiment performances are at 2.00pm, 3,25pm, 5.25pm and 5.50pm.
